Only four things matter
I was reading an article recently about child rearing and parenting styles. It was long, but at the end was a quote I have been thinking about ever since I read it, because it strikes me as such good advice.
The writer is listening to a talkback radio programme where they are discussing what makes for a good childhood when an older lady calls in. “As a great-granny,” she says, “I have a longer perspective than most callers. Four things matter - only four things. Love, listening, trust and justice.”
Love. Listening. Trust. Justice.
